On Sunday, October 24, we will begin our three week Stewardship Program entitled, “Putting Darkness in a Positive Light.” Throughout scripture there are numerous stories which portray the movement from darkness into light. That movement can provide us, as the people of God, a positive direction where we discover new ways to share the love, hope, and care of God.
As members of Unity Moravian we are on a journey of faith. This journey takes us through moments and times of darkness, where we are consumed by special needs, or painful issues that can easily overwhelm us and our families. Each Sunday of our Stewardship Program, we will look at ways that God helps us move from those dark moments into the bright light of Creation, so that we can strengthen our faith, help in service to others, and give of our time and talent to the Body of Christ, here at Unity Moravian Church. The texts selected for this emphasis of “Putting Darkness in a Positive Light” are:
I would ask each member of this congregation to not only be in prayer and read over the texts used for this series, but also to be present in your church. As one of my former professors stated, “One cannot vote for membership in a church with an absentee ballot.” During this three week series, all members will be asked for your commitment to the ongoing ministries of our church. We want you to know that each member of Unity Moravian is important and vital to who we are and what we can be. Each of us has a role in making our church a place where the Light of God is evident, so please join us as we begin our journey of “Putting Darkness in a Positive Light.”
