Who We Are‎ > ‎

    What We Believe

    The Moravian Church is . . .
    • A Christ-centered, Bible-directed, people-oriented church, with active congregational life, offering opportunities for worship, study, fellowship and Christian service.
    • The first international Protestant denomination, serving Christ since 1457, beginning in Moravia, the Czech Republic.
    • A mainline, evangelical, ecumenical denomination; preaching Jesus Christ, and claiming no unique "corner on the truth."
    • A worldwide, yet small, denomination acknowledged for missionary, educational, and humanitarian endeavors.
    • A church that welcome people from all walks of life and religious backgrounds.
    The Moravian Church believes . . .
    • In salvation as a gift from God through faith in Jesus Christ.
    • In Christianity as a way of life lived through a personal relationship with Christ, and guided by His teachings and the Holy Spirit's leadings.
    • In the Bible as the Word of God through which we seek to know God's will for our lives.
    • In God revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (The Trinity).
    • In the historic creeds of the Christian faith such as the Apostles and Nicene Creeds, without any unique Moravian creed, but this motto which directs our faith and practice of serving God in daily life:

"In essentials, unity; In non-essentials, liberty; In all things, love."
